The Michigan Triangle
2010:
Sixty years ago, a Northwest airline, flight 2501, disappeared into central Lake Michigan. Over the years there have been many reports of strange things happening in this area of the lake. 55 people were on the plane and none of them were seen again.
Over 40 planes have disappeared into the “Michigan Triangle.” People say that it is very similar to the Bermuda Triangle, which is located in the southern Atlantic near Bermuda.
There have been sightings of UFOs and strange creatures. “There are lots of legends of sea monsters”, says resident of the lake Bill Wangemann. There are even some rumors that there is a time traveling portal in the middle! Once there was even a report of soft blocks of perfectly cut ice fell from the sky onto a ship.
“I do believe in this Michigan Triangle”, says Columbia Professor Dan Jaques, who has been studying the Michigan for ten years. I believe that there is a blank spot in the middle of the lake where there is no radar and planes cannot be tracked and the planes fly off course and crash. I think there is a big population of leeches in the lake that kill lots swimmers. I have had a team of divers dive in the lake. We have found that the leech population is twice that of Lake Erie and Superior combined.They can get very big and can look like massive snakes in the water. Not that many ships have disappeared so they could have just broken down. But, I still believe in the triangle because all of the planes didn`t just brake down.

Here is a log of my best strange sightings during my stays at the triangle:
October 14, 1995: Massive leech school seen near the center of the lake at 5:46am
January 23, 1997: Airplane wing and engine found in the deepest part of the lake at 6:32pm
March 12, 1997: More parts of the plane found. The Bones of a flight attendant were also found near the storage section at 1:45am
August 19, 2001: A huge Leech spotted just off the coast of the lake at 7:12pm
May 9, 2002: My boat lost is radar signal in the center of Lake Michigan at 6:03am.
June 7, 2004: Boat is lost into the triangle at 12:09pm.
